Hey everyone! My name is Laura Walters… I've been signed up for this team for a while now but getting everything going has been pretty slow with school ending and all! But I am so excited to be joining the blog! I live in Georgia (I say y'all, too!) and I'm the youngest child, with an older brother (almost 20) and twin older sisters (who are two of my best friends; they're 18)… My brother lives in Colorado and one of my sisters is moving up there at the end of the summer (which I am very sad about). I'm 16 and just finished up my sophomore year in high school… I am so excited about junior year! I've gone on mission trips with Teen Missions for the last two summers, but I felt God leading me towards AIM and this trip this year! I'm so excited about what He's going to do!
Now that I've covered the basics, here are some random facts about me:
– I listen to mostly every type of music; I love music.
– Me and my best friend are starting trapeze in a few days, just for fun… I love doing random things and trying new and exciting things!
– I have a very extensive bucket list.
– I absolutely love the beach!
– I play piano, guitar, and sing!
– I've played an array of sports, but I'm just playing volleyball for my school in the fall.
– I don't have a favorite color… I pretty much love them all.
– My two sisters are two of the closest people to me and are my best friends.
– I was homeschooled through 6th grade, went to a private school in 7th grade, went to a different private school in 8th grade, went back to the private school I went to in 7th grade in 9th grade, and I've landed at public school my 10th grade year and will hopefully remain there for the remainder of high school!
– My absolute favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls.
– I love performing in and watching plays / musicals!
– Organizing and lists are my favorite.
– I love people (although I'm not always a people person; I have to have my alone time)… So I'll be joining those of y'all who love people watching!
– I love thunderstorms.
– I've recently gotten into yoga… and I'm typically an "earthy" / hippy type dresser.
– I love government and politics… and debating about it.
– I'm typically shy at first… and once I get to know you, I can be quiet or talkative and crazy… it just depends.
– I don't like confiding in people and telling them personal things. I am trying to get over that.
– In conclusion of my random facts, I cannot wait to meet everyone and spend an amazing two weeks in Haiti together!
I know I'm supposed to include a picture but my home computer got a virus and I'm using my dad's laptop right now, which to my knowledge doesn't have any pictures on it so I'll have to hold off on that!
